These bookends continue Sharon Alpren's study of form and surface, inspired by contemporary design, urban architecture and the shapes and textures of nature. She is drawn to strong, simple, expressive works that allow the essence of the materials to show through.

Sharon Alpren is a Melbourne based ceramic artist working out of her home studio in the Macedon Ranges. Sharon took up ceramics 15 years ago after relocating to Australia from her native UK where she had a background in Textiles.

Working with a mix of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, Sharon's work strikes a balance between creating both functional and sculptural pieces for the home, resulting in resilient everyday pieces without compromising on aesthetic. Sharon is particularly interested in glazes and texture and is constantly experimenting with creating her own glaze recipes.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds, returns or exchanges. All pieces at pépite Gallery are handmade by local creatives and most are on consignment. For this reason, we're unable to offer returns, exchanges or refunds. You can select our free Click & Collect option at checkout if you'd like to collect your order from our Collingwood showroom. Pick-up windows are between Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5pm - please contact us to confirm a collection day and time.

Standard Shipping within Australia is sent by Australia Post or Sendle and includes insurance so your parcel is safe! Your order will be fulfilled and dispatched within 2 to 5 business days.
