IRENE GRISHIN-SELZER has a Masters degree in Fine Arts (Ceramics) from Monash University in Melbourne graduating with Clayworks Australia prizes for ceramic excellence. Her practice engages with the notion of transience in nature - the shape of time and the sense of place.
Her work has been curated into numerous group exhibitions within Australia and North America along with solo shows in Melbourne. Mixing soil from her studio locations with clay, porcelain pigments, and glazes, her highly textured work becomes a literal and powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of nature where all things both animate and inanimate, past and present are intrinsically linked.
