Theodosius Ng 黄振康 (they/he/she) is a queer Chinese ceramic artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). Their practice employs wheel throwing, hand building and experimental glazing techniques. They are passionate about cross-disciplinary practices and tactility in materiality.
Inspired by their queerness, chronic illness and immigrant experience, Ng is curious about exploring the extraneous within the familiar through cultural, ritual, and spiritual concepts - revealing an inherent need to find pattern, beauty and ritual. Their works aim to co-create and collaborate with nature and humankind.

Simple designs can prove challenging, however this keeps her engaged as she continues to search for that one perfect piece... that enigma. She uses textured clays, often blending two or three together. The wheel gives Melinda the individual parts, and her hands assemble the finished product. The process is by far the main event for Melinda, the work is a bonus.
